Al-Ḥāfiẓ Al-Mizzī’s Purposes in His Additions and Revisions in Tuḥfat al-Ashrāf

Abstract

The significance of the research comes from the importance of the book Tuhfat A-Ashraf, as it contained between its covers the excerpts of the six books, and some other books by the authors of the six books.

 The research aims to highlight the most important features of the additions, and to explain the  scientific impact on the

hadiths and the methods that Al-Hafiz A-Mizzi - may God have mercy on him - cite in his additions to his book Tuhfat A-Ashraf.

 I talked about Al-Hafiz Al-Mazzi in a brief biography, introducing his book and its

Subject. I adopted an inductive and analytic approach of the Tuhfat Al-Ashraf, where I put every benefit in a chapter, after collecting similar, repeated scientific material, and  then compiling it in a

Chapter. I also quoted the required text from the book Tuhfat Al-Ashraf by Al-Hafiz. A- Mizzi, and the hadiths emerged from the paths that he cites, and documented the texts from their sources. I finally concluded the research with a conclusion in which I show the most prominent results, including   Al-Hafiz Al-Mizzi pointed out to the illusions occurring in the hadith that he cites through its additions,

, highlighted the violations occurring in the chains of transmission, texts, and other similar matters and strengthening the paths of the six books with the paths it provides in addition to them,

and pointing out the preserved path, and thus revealing the defects for the hadith that occur in it. As for the recommendations, I recommend the

necessity of paying attention to those books, obtaining

Hadith benefits in them, and also explaining the approaches of the scholars in them through

practicing these classical books, and coexisting with their authors and what they

wrote in them.
