The Prophet’s Responses to Qur’anic Verses: A Hadith Study

This study examines the hadiths that report the Prophet’s verbal responses to specific Qur’anic verses—namely, what the Prophet would recite in remembrance or supplication following certain verses. The research offers a comprehensive hadith-based analysis of these narrations, totaling 19 hadiths linked to 11 distinct verses. The study concludes that only two of these narrations are authentic, both relating to the Prophet’s response to the verse: “Not of those who have incurred [Your] wrath nor of those who are astray.” (al-Fātiḥah:7)
