Abstract

This study aims to define the concepts of intellectual awareness and national security and to explain the impact of intellectual awareness on achieving national security in the religious, political, economic, social, and media fields. The study follows the inductive and qualitative analytical approaches.

The findings of the study indicate that intellectual awareness represents a strong protection for states and societies against threats and dangers, thereby contributing to the achievement of national security at various levels. In the religious field, intellectual awareness contributes to ensuring sound reasoning and confronting intellectual deviations in the use of Islamic terminology. In the political field, it contributes to understanding the goals and methods of external enemies and confronting political parties and terrorist groups. In the economic field, it contributes to protecting charitable work from exploitation and confronting calls for economic boycotts. In the social field, it contributes to preserving social cohesion, confronting sectarian discourse, and strengthening citizenship. In the media field, it contributes to strengthening soft power in order to confront intellectual threats and promoting awareness of reliable media sources.

The study recommends supporting and encouraging scientific research that examines national security threats, identifies their causes, and proposes ways to confront them, especially future-oriented and foresight studies
