Abstract

Abstract


This research examines the concepts of the sun and the moon in the Holy Qur’an, the wisdom behind their creation, their importance and status, and their impact in the Qur’anic context. The study also addresses the different states of the sun and the moon, their phases, and the concept of the term manazil (phases) in the Qur’an.


In addition, the research discusses the subjugation of the sun and the moon, the concept of their movement, and highlights an aspect of the Qur’anic miraculous nature. It also examines the prostration of the sun to Allah, its rising from the west at the end of time and clarifies the concept and ruling of worshipping the sun and the moon instead of Allah. The study concludes with the most important findings.
