Abstract

Abstract

Islamic Sharia encompasses rulings capable of addressing emerging issues and keeping pace with contemporary developments، including advances in food manufacturing. In some cases، processed foods have become more commonly consumed than traditional staple foods. This development has created the need to examine the permissibility of paying Zakat al-Fitr using processed staple foods.

The study begins with a preliminary section covering the definition and legal ruling of Zakat al-Fitr، followed by an overview of the food items accepted by jurists for its payment. The first main section examines the ruling on paying Zakat al-Fitr using processed staple foods، distinguishing between foods to which additional ingredients have been added and those that have undergone processing without the addition of other substances. The second section discusses the method of determining the required amount of processed food to be given as Zakat al-Fitr. The study concludes with a summary of its findings.
