Abstract

This research, entitled" The Concept of Belief in Divine Decree between the Sunni Doctrine and Energy Science in Contemporary Thought," discusses belief in al-qadar (divine decree) as one of the six pillars of faith. The issue of divine decree has long been a matter of theological debate in Islamic history, as the Qadariyyah sect emerged through Ma‘bad al-Juhani, followed by other doctrinal deviations.

The topic was chosen due to the connection between certain concepts of modern energy science and the Islamic concept of divine decree. Energy science explores the effects of unseen forces in the universe; however, some of its notions are rooted in ancient pagan philosophies, necessitating a distinction between concepts consistent with Sunni creed and those that contradict it.

The research adopts an analytical approach to examine the origins of the so-called" Law of Energy," which traces back to ancient Eastern civilizations blending pagan beliefs with Hindu and Chinese philosophies. The study concludes that many of the ideas promoted in energy science are inconsistent with the Islamic understanding of al-qadar, thus calling for caution and discernment in addressing these ideas in light of the authentic Sunni doctrine.
