Abstract

The current study aimed to explore the effectiveness of using electronic mind mapping strategy in improving working memory among female students with reading disabilities. To achieve the study objectives, the researchers employed a single subject design methodology, specifically the multiple probe design. The study sample consisted of three female students with reading disabilities, aged between 9 and 10 years, from third-grade elementary students in Abha city. They were purposively selected. The researchers trained them using a program based on electronic mind mapping strategy to enhance their working memory skills, specifically information retention and retrieval. The study also sought to assess the effectiveness of the program in helping the students retain the acquired skills. Statistical methods and visual analysis of graphs and tables were used for data analysis. The results showed a positive functional relationship between the use of electronic mind mapping strategy and the level of working memory among students with reading disabilities. The participants achieved a 100% proficiency rate and were able to retrieve the correct words. Based on these findings, the researchers suggest using the electronic mind mapping strategy in teaching learning disabilities due to its effectiveness.
