Challenges Faced by Saudi University Students Using AI Tools in Personalized Learning

Abstract

AI and technology have increased learning interest and engagement; therefore, paying attention to AI as an education tool is crucial. The more sophisticated AI tools become, the more important it is to rethink how they can be used to power learning and enhance education not just for current goals but also for future education and technological goals. The study aims to discover the challenges that Saudi university students face when using AI tools in personalized learning. The study followed the mixed approach by the convergent design to answer the research questions. Stratified random sampling was used on a sample of 456 students from the humanities and applied disciplines in three major and emerging Saudi universities. In findings, Saudi Arabian university students use AI tools in their personalized learning, which have a highly positive effect on their learning experience, and are also aware of challenges posed by AI tools and are willing to continue using them.
