Disclosure of self and its relationship with both depression and self-esteem among students of Al- Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University

Abstract

The study aimed to detect the self-disclosure and its relationships with depression and self-esteem among a sample of female students in Al- Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud University, and to make comparisons between the subgroups according to “the academic level”, and “the socio economic status level”. Also, it aimed to know if there are any differences between the sample subgroups according to “the academic level” and “the socio economic status level” in depression and self-esteem. The results show a negative relationship between self-disclosure and depression, and a positive relationship between self-disclosure and self-esteem among the female students.
